This guide summarizes the common file formats, software and practical requirements for using RoofRigor digital products. Individual product pages control where a specific package has different requirements.
Digital delivery
RoofRigor products are delivered electronically. Depending on the product, a customer download may include one or more ZIP packages containing PDFs, fillable PDFs, Microsoft Word documents, Excel workbooks, reference images and plain-text licence or implementation files.
Recommended computer setup
- A current Windows or macOS computer for downloading, extracting and managing larger product packages.
- A current desktop PDF application. Adobe Acrobat Reader or Acrobat is recommended for the most reliable fillable-PDF experience.
- A current version of Microsoft Word when the product includes editable DOCX masters.
- A current version of Microsoft Excel when the product includes XLSX workbooks, formulas, dashboards or editable calculators.
- Sufficient local or company-managed storage for the original downloads, controlled working copies and backups.
- A reliable internet connection for initial delivery and any eligible future downloads or updates.
PDF compatibility
RoofRigor packages may contain fillable and reference PDFs. Desktop PDF software generally provides the most reliable experience for form fields, saving, printing, flattening and electronic signatures. Browser viewers and mobile apps can behave differently. Test the intended workflow before relying on a form for live company or project records.
Microsoft Word compatibility
Editable DOCX masters are designed primarily for Microsoft Word. Other word processors may open the files, but layout, tables, fields, headers, fonts and pagination can change. Review the complete document after conversion or editing in alternate software.
Microsoft Excel compatibility
RoofRigor XLSX workbooks can include formulas, validation lists, conditional formatting, dashboards and linked worksheets. Microsoft Excel desktop provides the intended reference environment. Other spreadsheet applications may calculate or display advanced workbook features differently. Validate formulas and outputs before operational use after conversion.
Mobile and tablet use
Mobile devices can be useful for viewing references and selected field-entry workflows, but they may not support every fillable-PDF, workbook, editing, printing or file-management feature available on desktop. A desktop workflow is recommended for initial setup, customization, quality control and management of larger bundles.
ZIP files and file management
- Download the complete customer package before extracting it.
- Keep an untouched copy of every original RoofRigor download as the source master.
- Create controlled company working copies before editing.
- Use project- or department-specific folders rather than editing the master files directly.
- Maintain access controls appropriate to employee, customer, claim and project information.
- Maintain a reliable backup separate from the primary working location.
Printing, scanning and signatures
RoofRigor systems can support digital, paper or hybrid workflows. Confirm page scaling and legibility when printing or scanning. If electronic signatures are used, select a method appropriate to the document, company, contract and jurisdiction. RoofRigor does not provide legal advice about signature validity or record-retention requirements.
Before purchasing
- Review the specific product page for included file types and licence scope.
- Confirm your team has compatible PDF, Word and/or Excel software for the product being purchased.
- Confirm the selected licence covers the intended internal users.

- Review the Digital Product Refund Policy before downloading.
